Zillian tosses one penny and Zillo tosses two pennies. The probability that Zillo gets the same number of head that Zillian gets is what common fraction?

A) 1/4
B) 3/8
C) 1/2
D) 2/3
E) 3/4

I'll post the solution after a significant number of replies.

When you post a new topic, if you scroll down, you'll see poll options. You can take it from there.

Probability is equal to # of successes/total possibilities. Note this is a very easy probability question if the successes is approached with proper casework.

Case I: They each throw 0 heads
Spoiler:
Case II: They each throw 1 head
Spoiler:

Combining both the results from Case I and II, you get 3 successes. In total there are 8 possibilities (3 coins are being tossed for 2*2*2.)

#successes/#possibilities = 3/8
